🎬Filmmaker - Making videos about hidden history @UrbanistLive

Ariel Viera

I’m driven by one thing: to tell stories that will change the way you view the world. That’s the entire basis behind my show Urbanist with more than 48,000 followers across Facebook and YouTube. I meticulously research history you won’t find in the textbooks and cover places you won’t find in the guide books.

In 2018 I was a Shorty Award Finalist for Live-Streamer of the Year. In the past 4 years he has made more than 1,500 videos covering 13 cities across the world. I’ve worked with Visit Philly, Maine’s MidCoast & Islands, Visit Helsinki, Sennheiser, and many other organizations.

Aside from uncovering hidden history, I’m a freelance filmmaker working with brands to tell their unique stories, making short narrative films, and filming performing arts.

My background is one with lots of twists and turns that informed the person I am today. From graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering to working in tech with Foursquare to then working with major media companies such as Gawker Media and Vox Media. To being a self-taught on-screen storyteller and filmmaker.
